HILLARY FREEMAN
Hillary began studying Iyengar yoga in 1994, became a
committed student of Anusara Yoga in 1999, and started
teaching in 2001. Her teaching style is empowering,
passionate and fun, as she challenges students to
fulfill their own deepest potential. She inspires her
students to express themselves authentically, and shares
her enthusiasm for the capacity to change and evolve
through the practice of yoga. Due to a serious back
injury Hillary became interested in therapeutics; the
power of alignment in healing, and has taken several
trainings to deepen her understanding of the body. In
2003 she began her study of Thai Yoga bodywork and has
completed three levels of training with Jonas Westring.
Hillary continues to study with John Friend, founder of
Anusara Yoga, and is a dedicated student of Dr. Douglas
Brooks, professor of religious studies at the University
of Rochester, and among the worlds leading scholars of
Hinduism.
